It is now more than six months since the government published its white paper, setting out its vision for the English schools system. The white paper has been followed by government consultations and a regulatory review while the passage of the Schools Bill has been delayed. At the time of writing, it is still unclear whether the new prime minister and education secretary will make any changes to this policy direction.
