Janet supports regional and local organisations to strengthen school governance and provides consultancy and training services, including external reviews of governance. She has facilitated on NGA’s Leading Governance programmes.

Regional Governance Development Lead (East and East Midlands)
Katherine supports regional and local organisations to strengthen school governance. With a background in community engagement and facilitation, Katherine has worked as a governance professional for over 12 years in primary, secondary and higher education.

Fiona Fearon leads NGA’s policy and research work, ensuring that the value and voice of governance are central to policy-making and represented in national education policy discussions.

Michael Barton
Head of Advocacy and External Affairs
Michael specialises in trust governance, co-ordinating NGA's work with multi-academy trusts and producing tailored resources. He also leads NGA's work in the West Midlands, working closely with the region's trusts and local authorities.

Rani Kaur
Head of Advice
Rani oversees NGA’s Advice team and GOLDline service. She leads on the SEND and premises management policy areas and manages NGA’s work on equality, diversity and inclusion. She is co-chair of an infant and nursery school in Solihull.
