Foundation and Trust Schools - a toolkit for governors

NCOGS (National Co-ordinators of Governor Services) and FASNA (Foundation and Aided Schools National Association) have produced a Decision Making Toolkit on Foundation and Trust School Status for governors. The Toolkit provides basic information about the options, links to more detailed information and guidance on the sort of structured discussions that governors should have as they consider whether foundation or trust status is right for their school. The materials are designed for use by governors although some of the activities will benefit from external facilitation.

Sex and relationships education survey

Schools are in the process of meeting a new requirement for promoting the well being of their pupils  from September 2009 and preparing for  statutory Personal Social Health education including  sex and relationships education (SRE)  from September 2011. This is why NGA has joined with the National Confederation of Parent Teacher Association (NCPTA) and NAHT, the Association of all School Leaders, to launch a unique survey into the opinions of governors, parents and school leaders on the provision of formal SRE in England.

More information about this survey can be found here
